We have had a fantastic weekend and hope you enjoyed any events that you came to. Do let us know what you thought of the festival. Here are a selection of photos from the weekend which we’ll add to over the next few days.

[…] I’m on the organising committee for the Portobello Book Festival which took place from Thursday to Sunday. This is a volunteer run local festival and is unusual in that it’s all free. We just ask for donations to cover our costs. We had 25+ events over the weekend so it was rather hectic. I chaired a session on feel-good fiction on Saturday morning and interviewed Sam Canning, Nina Kaye and Niamh Hargan. I really enjoyed their books Virtual Strangers, Just Like That and The Break-Up Clause so it was lovely to be able to talk about those and why we think romantic fiction deserves as much respect as any other genre. I also organised a session of historical thrillers with DV Bishop, Sarah Smith and Kate Foster chaired by Jane Anderson. They were talking about their books Ritual of Fire, Hear No Evil and The Maiden and it was an excellent session to round off the festival. There are photos of many of the events on the PBF website here. […]
